I met Tom and his younger brother when we were going into the 6th Grade at Adams Elementary shool.  His family moved in the summer prior to school starting, and my brother David, was the same age as Carl "Tom" Moore's younger brother.  They weren't athletes, but we enjoyed playtimes together until we moved away from them into the Maude B. Davis school system while they went to Tewinkle.  David and I would stop everyday at the Moore's house and we rode our bikes together to Adams Elementary School.  I remember Tom as a really nice guy, easy to get along with, and was pleased when he came to Costa Mesa High, I think his sophomore year.  He remained a good guy, a quiet person who kept pretty much to himself, but we always acknowledged each other when passing in the halls or at lunch time and often reminisced about our earlier childhood.  We hung with different peer groups in High School, so didn't follow his interests after our grade school years.  Still, the memories I have of those times we did share will never be forgotten, as we were both new students when at Adams Elementary.  I was the one who always got in trouble for something, being the class clown, etc. and he always lent a kind ear when I would vent to him about stuff.  Take care Tom, and you will always be in my heart.  Later Bro!!!!

Geoge: Thanks so much for your heartfelt and moving recollection of Tom Moore. You've made him, and his passing, so much more real for me. Mike

Carl, also known as Tom, was a dear friend to me later in high school. I did not know about his passing. During our senior year, lots of me and my sister, Shelley’s, friends hung out at our house, as much to see my mother as us!  She was welcoming and fun and she loved our friends. Carl was one of them. My mother died three years ago this November.  It wasn’t until last year that my siblings and I got together to sort through some of my mother’s belongings. To my surprise, she had a photo of Carl that he had sent to her while biking in Europe. I so wanted to tell him what he meant to my mother. She saved his photo for almost 50 years. Carl was thoughtful and kind and was interested in so many things. He was a deep, beautiful soul. Rest In Peace, dear Carl.
